Remarkable Patanjali Yoga Sutras

Patanjali Yoga Sutras are the foundation of yoga. It provides a practical way for achieving happiness, peace, and freedom. The sutra’s introduction gives an overview of the goal, the obstacles to achieving that goal, and how to overcome them to achieve that goal.

Patanjali Yoga Sutras are philosophical texts that provide a framework for understanding our existence and well-being. Patanjali introduces eight limbs (steps) in his work, which can be grouped into three domains: Yamas – moral practices; Niyamas – observances; Asanas – physical postures or poses.

Patanjali Yoga Sutras means a “thread on Yoga”, and it is a set of 204 Indian sutras written by Patanjali. These scriptures discuss the nature of the self, the purpose of human life, and how to achieve liberation from suffering.

Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras is a guide for yoga that discusses the nature of the self, the purpose of human life, and how to achieve liberation from suffering. It is not a mystical work but rather teaches practical ways to reach inner peace.

The sutra also makes practical suggestions for everyday actions in order to live in accordance with its teachings.

The sutra is made up of 196 stanzas which are organized into four chapters or books

The first verse of the first chapter states: “Now I shall tell you briefly what yoga is”, followed by another 14 down-to-earth verses. It covers the purpose of practicing yoga, its origins, goal, and how to achieve it.
