How Jainism Evolved from Hinduism

What is Jainism and how has it is evolved?

Jainism is a religion that originated in India around the 6th century BCE. It is one of the oldest religions in the world and is still practiced by millions of people today. a non-violent religion that emphasizes the importance of non-harming (ahimsa) to all living beings. Jains also believe in the concept of karma, which is the law of cause and effect. They believe that our actions in this life will affect our future lives.

The exact origins of Jainism are unknown, but it is believed to have evolved from Hinduism. Hinduism is a much older religion, and it is likely that developed as a reaction to some of the practices of Hinduism. For example, Jains believe in non-violence, while Hinduism allows for violence in some cases. Jains also believe in the concept of ahimsa, which is not found in Hinduism.

Jainism has evolved over time, and there are now two main branches of the religion: Digambara and Shvetambara. Digambara Jains believe that monks should not wear clothes, while Shvetambara Jains believe that monks can wear clothes. There are also some differences in the rituals and practices of the two branches.

Despite these differences, Jains share a common belief in the importance of non-violence, non-attachment, and renunciation. They believe that these are the keys to achieving liberation from the cycle of rebirth.

Here are some of the key similarities and differences between Jainism and Hinduism:
