Ayodhya Deepotsav created a new world record by lighting 22 lakh 23 thousand earthen lamps at the same time.

This record breaks the record of 19 lakh 25 thousand lamps set last year.

Ayodhya is an important religious site for Hinduism as it is considered to be the birthplace of Lord Rama. On the occasion of Diwali, Ayodhya is decorated with millions of lamps. These lamps are installed on the banks of river Saryu, in temples, and other historical places.

On the eve of Diwali, a grand procession is taken out in Ayodhya. Tableaux of Lord Ram and Sita are included in this procession. After the Shobha Yatra, a huge Deepotsav program was organized on the banks of the river Saryu. Lakhs of lamps are lit in this program, due to which the entire city of Ayodhya becomes illuminated with light.
