What is Vedic Time System

Before modern physics and British Rule, In India people followed the Vedic time system.

The essence of this system is its ability to cover both micro and macroscopic times lines of the universe.

It is still followed in India for religious purposes and by Astrologers.

Here is a brief and partial glimpse of the system of division of time.

1 Ahoratram = 1 Day = 8 Prahara = 30 Muhurtah

1/30th of a Day = 1 muhUrtAH

1 muhUrtAH = 2 ghaTyaH

1 ghaTi = 30 kaLAH

1 kaLAH = 30 KAShThaAH

1 KAShThaAH = 18 nimeShAH

1 nimeShAH = 30 kalAH

1 tatparaH = 100 kalAH

1 truTyH = 29.6 Micro Seconds.
