Krishna Janmashtami Astrological significance

Krishna Janmashtami is a Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna.

It is celebrated on the eighth day (Ashtami) of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) of the month of Bhadrapada in the Hindu calendar. Astrologically, it is believed that Lord Krishna was born under a Rohini Nakshatra, which is associated with the moon.

A strong moon in the birth chart indicates emotional intelligence, creativity, and charisma.

Lord Krishna is a major deity in Hinduism. He is worshipped as the eighth avatar of Vishnu and also as the Supreme God in his own right. He is the god of protection, compassion, tenderness, and love; and is one of the most popular and widely revered among Hinduism divinities. The anecdotes and narratives of Krishna’s life are generally titled as Krishna Līlā. He is a central character in the Mahabharata, the Bhagavata Purana, the Brahma Vaivarta Purana, and the Bhagavad Gita.

Krishna Janmashtami 2023 falls on September 6th and 7th. According to the Hindu calendar, the Ashtami Tithi of the Krishna Paksha in the Bhadrapada month will start at 3:37 PM on September 6 and end at 4:14 AM on September 7.

Krishna Janmashtami celebration includes rituals such as waking up early, cleaning the house and puja room, adorning Laddoo Gopal ji with new clothes and jewelry, offering sweets and panchamrit, singing devotional songs, and chanting mantras.
